Retirement Education Seminar II (RES II): April 2, 2015 / 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

If you are 5 years or less from retirement, the seminar RES II is right for you. This session focuses on short-term financial planning, long-term care, Social Security and Medicare. You will receive a free copy of the award winning publication Ready or Not - Your Retirement Planning Guide. 

Are You Ready to Retire?: April 2, 2015 / 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

This presentation is for members within 5 years of retirement and is designed to walk you through important retirement decisions such as choosing when to retire, chossing a defined benefit payout, and whether to carry long-term care insurance and optional life insurance into retirement. Other topics covered include, benefits after retirement and how to utilize VRS' online application, on myVRS, to plan for retirement.

This presentation is for new and current members and is designed to educate you on VRS, your VRS membership and the importance of planning now for yourfuture. Topics covered include an overview of your VRS benefits and optional programs. For example, Virginia's Deferred Compensation Plan, Optional Group Life Insurance and Long-term care programs; Information on purchasing prior service and on the VRS resources available to help you plan for your future, such as utilizing the VRS website, taking advantage of member education opportunities and of VRS' online self-service tools -myVRS Benefit Estimator and Retirement Planner.

This presentation is for new and current members of VRS covered under the Hybrid Retirement Plan. It is designed to educate you on your VRS membership and the importance of planning now for your future. Topics covered include an overview of your VRS benefits and optional programs, purchase of prior service and member resources such as our online self-service tools, myVRS and the Retirement Planner. In addition, a representative from ICMA-RC will cover the defined contribution component of the Hybrid Retirement Plan to include contributions and investment options.
