For the third consecutive year, registered nursing graduates from Wytheville Community College (WCC) have achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
This outstanding accomplishment highlights the program’s continued excellence in preparing students for successful nursing careers. In addition to this achievement, according to registerednursing.org; WCC is ranked #4 in the state of Virginia for nursing programs, further establishing its reputation as one of the top nursing education providers in the Commonwealth. “I am a proud graduate of Wytheville Community College and honored to lead a program that is focused on student success and shaping the future of healthcare. I feel confident when one of our graduates is taking care of my family.” said Karla Yates, Associate Professor, Program Head. Ewell Vernon, Dean of Health Professions and Medical Services states, “I attribute our program ranking and pass rate to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. It is our goal to provide a high-quality, rigorous education that prepares the next generation of professionals. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on clinical experience, innovative technology, and a student-centered environment. Our faculty are experts in their field and have a passion to share that with the students at Wytheville Community College.”
The NCLEX-RN is a rigorous, nationally required exam that ensures new nurses are prepared to provide safe and effective patient care. Achieving a 100% pass rate places WCC among the top nursing programs in the region and the state. In addition to celebrating this milestone, WCC is preparing to welcome the next generation of nurses. Selective Admissions for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN) Bridge Program is currently open. Deadline to apply is November 3. This program provides LPNs with the opportunity to advance their careers and education by bridging into the Associate Degree in Nursing program.
