Local Anesthesia for the Practicing Hygienist
This course is offered to Virginia licensed and employed Hygienists and is designed to teach the participant management of pain control through the use of local anesthetic agents and the administration of nitrous oxide and oxygen sedation. This is a hybrid course with online portion running approximately 3 weeks. Clinical will be held from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM for 2 consecutive days.
Documents required to enroll in the class include: a copy of the student’s dental hygiene license, a copy of the student’s proof of insurance. Other documents may be requested.

Basic Contractor Business Licensing Class
The Basic Contractor Business Licensing Class is required by DPOR for anyone seeking an A, B, or C license for the first time. If you are currently licensed and need to change your business type, it is recommended that you contact the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) at (804) 367-8511 for guidance. Classes are held a Saturday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
