Professional Licensure Disclosures
Wytheville Community College is a participating institution in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). By federal regulation 34 CFR 668.43, Wytheville Community College (WCC) must disclose to prospective out-of-state students which states its programs “meet” and “do not meet” the applicable educational requirements for professional licensure or certification.
Prospective students outside the Commonwealth of Virginia who may enroll in a program at WCC that prepares students for external certification or licensure or may require clinical placements or internships should be from a state where the program “meets” the educational requirements for certification or licensure.
Please refer to the list below for contact information for each state’s licensing agency. This list is updated regularly and may change.

Direct Disclosure
Wytheville Community College will make individual disclosures in writing to current and prospective students when a program leading to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment or marketed as such does not meet educational requirements in states where students are located or that no determination has been made. The disclosure will include the current contact information for any applicable licensing board and will advise the student to determine whether the program meets requirements for licensure in the state where the student is located.
WCC recommends that any student enrolling in a program at WCC leading to external licensure or certification contact the state board, or agency of the program in the state which they wish to practice, for the most complete and up to date information regarding licensure, registration, and certification. In addition to educational requirements, an agency or board may require additional criteria be met for licensure, certification, registration, etc. Interested students can click the License Finder | CareerOneStop website for contact information of state licensing agency bodies, by program and/or by state. Students can also investigate if the occupation requires a license on the License Finder link on the Licensed Occupations | CareerOneStop website.
