Wytheville Community College (WCC) announces that the Selective Admissions process for its Health Professions programs will take place on March 17. Prospective students interested in pursuing high‑demand careers in healthcare are encouraged to begin preparing now.
WCC’s Selective Admissions cycle includes the following Health Professions programs:
· Dental Hygiene
· Medical Laboratory Technology
· Nursing (RN)
· Nursing Advanced Placement (LPN–RN Bridge)
· Physical Therapist Assistant
These programs continue to serve as critical pathways into essential healthcare roles throughout the region and beyond.
TEAS Testing Requirements
Applicants to most Health Professions programs must complete the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) that corresponds to their intended program of study. Important guidelines include:
· TEAS scores remain valid for 3 years.
· Applicants may complete up to three TEAS attempts at WCC per academic year.
· Testing is typically offered between September and March, giving students ample opportunity to prepare and test.
Students are strongly encouraged to take the TEAS well ahead of program deadlines and review the program‑specific TEAS version required. For questions regarding the TEAS, selective admissions, or program requirements, contact: Hunter Jackson at phone: (276) 223-4741 or email: hjackson@wcc.vccs.edu.
