Wytheville Community College (WCC) is pleased to announce its free monthly Bluegrass and Old-Time Jamboree! The jamboree will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The event will be held in the William F. Snyder Auditorium on the WCC campus located at 1000 East Main Street, Wytheville.

The members of New Grass Edition are all former members of other bluegrass bands who love traditional bluegrass. Band members performing at the show are Dewey Long on the fiddle, Jackie Dunevant on the banjo, Jack Wells on guitar, Frank Graham on mandolin, and Mary Warren on bass.

The Whitetop Mountain Band is a renowned family-based old-time string band from Whitetop, Virginia, performing traditional Appalachian music since the 1940s. Known for high-energy dance tunes, fiddle/banjo instrumentals, and mountain gospel, they are a mainstay of the Blue Ridge cultural tradition, founded by fiddler Albert Hash and continued by Emily Spencer.

Together, these two bands will create a memorable WCC Jamboree night that honors Appalachian music traditions while delivering an energetic and family-friendly experience for audiences of all ages.

Seating for the event is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free and open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to help defray the travel expenses of the bands.
