The Wytheville Community College Choir will present the concert, "Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child," on two dates in December.
The first concert will be held on Thursday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hillsville. The second performance will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville at 7:00 p.m.
The program consists of a performance of the major choral work, "Mass of the Children," by John Rutter. Performing with the WCC Choir will be Leslie Mabe, soprano; Darren Goad, baritone; and a local children's chorus. The choir will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
The second half of the program will feature a variety of songs written by composers ranging from Bach/Kuhnau in the 1700's to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in the 1970's and a Broadway tune from "Elf (The Musical)” in 2003.
Cynthia Jackson is the Director of the WCC Choir. Pianists are Tina Wilcox and Brenda Wittwer.
The public is invited to join us in kicking off the holiday season with this exciting concert by the outstanding Wytheville Community College Choir.
