Smyth Hall Parking Renovations (2026)

What To Expect

WCC is excited to share that major parking lot renovations will soon be underway on campus! This project is part of our ongoing commitment to improving safety, enhancing traffic flow, and creating a more welcoming environment for our students, employees, and visitors.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Improved traffic flow with a redesigned layout.
  • Safer parking areas featuring upgraded lighting throughout.
  • Fresh landscaping to enhance the look and feel of the campus.
  • Four EV charging station parking spaces.
  • A designated area for food trucks, creating more opportunities for on-campus dining and events.

During construction, please watch for updated traffic patterns, signage, and any temporary parking adjustments. We’ll keep everyone informed as the project progresses. Thank you for your patience as we work to make our campus even better!

Alternate Routes and Parking

Beginning December 15, 2025, contractors will install fencing around portions of the Smyth Hall parking lot. Individuals who normally park in this lot will have to park at one of the alternative lots around the perimeter of campus.

In addition, access routes to the lot will temporarily change:

  • The entrance from Community Boulevard will be closed. Drivers should instead enter campus from Cassell Road.
  • The entrance from the traffic circle will also be closed. Drivers may enter below Carroll Hall and follow the internal campus drive to reach the portions of the Smyth Hall lot that will remain open.
