Arthur Meaux Kent, a native of Wythe County, collected these photographs in the 1920s while he worked for the US Forest Service as part of the Southern Appalachian Traveling Fire Prevention Project. Scenes include Unaka National Forest (later renamed Jefferson National Forest) and Choctawhatchee National Forest in Florida. All images are from the Arthur M. Kent Photograph Collection in the Kegley Library.
