The wage authorization for employment may be renewed at the discretion of the agency. Wage employees serve at the will and pleasure of the College and do not have access to the Grievance Procedure for State Employees and may be terminated at the discretion of the agency. Wage employees are not guaranteed any type of full-time employment. Should full-time vacancies occur, wage employees are encouraged (should they have a desire) to apply through the competitive hiring process. BENEFITS FOR WAGE POSITIONS Wage employees are eligible to voluntarily participate in the Deferred Comp plan or a tax shelter annuity plan (not eligible for cash match). Wage employees are eligible for unpaid Family and Medical leave upon request (if the minimum eligibility requirements are met). OTHER INFORMATION Wage/hourly employees will be given a job description outlining their expected duties prior to their first day of employment. Wage employees will also have access to the Virginia Community College Policy Manual and the Policy Manual of Wytheville Community College, and are expected to adhere to the applicable policies/procedures.
