Logging in to Blackboard

Blackboard is an online course management system that supports teaching, learning, and campus life. At WCC, Blackboard is used not only for fully online classes but also as a compliment to some traditional on-campus classes.

Before you can log on to Blackboard, you must know two things:

Your username is the same as the first part of your email address (everything before @email.vccs.edu). If you do not know your username, you can find out what it is by visiting http://wcc.my.vccs.edu. When you look up your username, you will be given the opportunity to set a password. If you are unable to find your username and/or set your password, contact Jaime Shetrone at 223-4784 or bbhelp@wcc.vccs.edu.

To Log In to Blackboard

There are three ways to access Blackboard:

Accessing Blackboard through the WCC web site

  1. Go to http://www.wcc.vccs.edu.
  2. Click the "My.WCC" link underneath the slide show.
  3. Log in with your username and password. If you don't know your username and/or password, use the appropriate links to find out what they are.
  4. Click on the link labeled "Blackboard".

Accessing Blackboard through My.WCC

  1. Go to http://wcc.my.vccs.edu.
  2. Log in with your username and password. If you don't know your username and/or password, use the appropriate links to find out what they are.
  3. Click on the link labeled "Blackboard".

Accessing Blackboard directly

If you cannot get to My.WCC or the WCC web site, you can access Blackboard directly.

  1. Go to http://learn.vccs.edu.
  2. Enter your username and password and click the Login button. If you do not know your username and password, you can go to http://wcc.my.vccs.edu to find out what they are.

Once you are logged in, you can enter your desired course by clicking on its name in your "My Blackboard Courses" box.

NOTE: If you have enrolled in a class in the last 24 hours, it may not yet be listed on your Blackboard. Also, not all traditional on-campus classes have courses on Blackboard. If you have a question about whether your on-campus class should be on Blackboard, contact your instructor.
