BB 9.1: Adding a Voice Announcement

To create a Voice Announcement please follow the steps outlined below:

 

  1. Log into Blackboard
  2. Navigate to the course Control Panel
  3. Click the Customization link
  4. Click the Tool Availability link
  5. Scroll down and ensure that the checkbox to the right of Wimba Voice Announcements Extension is checked
  6. Click the Submit button
  7. Click on the Course Tools link located on the Control Panel
  8. Click on the Voice Announcement link
  9. Type in the Subject and the Message in the appropriate text boxes. Please note that even though you are adding a voice announcement you should still include the text portion for any student who may be hearing impaired.
  10. To record the voice portion of the announcement simply click on the Record button in section 2 and begin speaking into your microphone.
  11. When you have finished recording, click the Stop button.  At this time you can click play to listen to your recorded announcement.
  12. Choose the Options you desire under section 3
  13. Click the Submit button

How to Edit an Announcement

Editing an Announcement

To edit an announcement follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Log into Blackboard and select the course.
  2. Go to the course Control Panel.
  3. Click the Course Tools link.
  4. Click the Announcements link.
  5. In the upper right corner ensure that the Edit Mode is  ONIf not click Off, to toggle it to ON.
  6. On the Announcement page, click on the down arrow, or chevron, next to the announcement that you want to modify.  Click on Edit and then  modify the announcement.
  7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit button.
  8. To remove an announcement, click on Delete from the menu and click OK in the pop-up box.
  9. To change the order of the announcements, click on the up/down arrow to the left of the announcement and then drag the content to the new location.

Adding an Announcement

To create an announcement follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Log into Blackboard and select the course.
  2. Go to the course Control Panel.
  3. Click the Course Tools link.
  4. Click the Announcements link.
  5. In the upper right corner ensure that the Edit Mode is  ONIf not click Off, to toggle it to ON.
  6. Click the Create Announcement button.
  7. Type the Announcement’s Subject and Message.
  8. Select availability and notification Options.
  9. To link a content area into the Announcement, click on the Browse button to select location in the course.   Then click on the area to be linked. (Clicking on the + front of an item expands the item.)

  10. Click the Submit button
