BIO 150 Studies the general characteristics of microorganisms. Emphasizes their relationships to individual and community health. Lecture 3 hours. Recitation and laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

BLD 101: Construction Management I

BLD 101 Construction Management I ( 3 CR) Presents overviews of all phases of construction project management. Introduces students to philosophy, responsibilities, methodology, and techniques of the construction process. Introduces topics related to the construction and design industries, organizations, construction contracts, bidding procedures, insurance, taxes, bonding, cost accounting, business methods, including basic computer usage, safety and general project management procedures. BLD 131: Carpentry Framing I

BLD 131 - Carpentry Framing I - Presents an introduction to carpentry with emphasis on residential construction. Covers safety on the job, appropriate use of power tools, basic construction techniques, an introduction to working drawings, and the team approach to residential buildings. Presents an introduction to selection and use of ladders amd scaffolds, basic form removal and demolition, and use of basic first aid. Includes the concepts of carpentry framing for floors, walls, ceilings, porches and decks. Includes theoretical and practical application as well as the concepts of carpentry framing for roof, truss installation and door and window installation. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 7 hours per week.
