WCC Theatre to Hold Auditions for Fall Production
WCC Theatre will hold open auditions for its fall show, Auschwitz Lullaby, on Wed., September 6 and Thurs., Sept. 7, 2017, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Snyder Auditorium.
A gripping drama by James C. Wall, Auschwitz Lullaby is based on the diaries of Dr. Miklos Nyiszli, a Jewish pathologist who was forced to work for SS Dr. Josef Mengele, the Angel of Death, in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp. The action takes place in 1944 Poland and gives just a brief look into the nightmare that existed at Auschwitz.
Auditions are open to anyone in the WCC region, and there are parts for three men, two women, and one female teen. No previous stage experience is required to audition, and, adds director Janice Pryor, “We are always looking for new folks.”
Pryor says that there are also many backstage positions needing to be filled, including stage manager, costumer, lighting technician, as well as a backstage crew to help with scene changes.
“If you are at all interested in working with a theatre production, come to the auditions because we can use your help, both on stage and off,” urged Pryor.
Rehearsals will begin the week of September 11, and the cast generally rehearses two to three nights a week. Production dates for Auschwitz Lullaby are November 3-4 and 10-11. Please contact Janice Pryor at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about the auditions or production.
