Wytheville Community College will celebrate the graduation of its Class of 2014 during two commencement exercises scheduled for May 9 and 10.
Both commencement ceremonies will be held at the Wytheville Meeting Center adjoining the WCC campus.
During the May 9 ceremony at 6:30 p.m., WCC will recognize graduates from WCC’s General Education, Business, and Occupational/Technology programs, while graduates of the college’s Health Care Professions programs will be recognized during the May 10 event at 1 p.m. Pinning programs for the various Health Care Professions programs will be held at the Meeting Center on the morning of May 10.
This year, WCC expects to graduate 321 during the two ceremonies. The total number of graduates for the year is 648.
WCC was founded in 1963 as a branch of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In 1967, WCC became a member of the newly-established Virginia Community College System. This year, WCC has been celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a series of special events.
