Dean Of Health Professions and Medical Services

The Division Dean reports to the Vice President of Academics and Institutional Advancement and is responsible for the development, organization, planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of the mission, purpose, goals, responsibilities and instructional programs of his or her respective Division and supervision and oversight of the college's educational partnerships with public schools, private schools, and four-year transfer institutions. The effective starting date for this position will be January 1, 2021.

Specific duties may include but not be limited to the following:

1. Coordinates the development of the Division's schedule of courses to be offered each semester;
2. Reviews, on a scheduled and routine basis, programs and individual courses offered within the Division, with particular emphasis on the relevance, quality, and effectiveness of each;
3. Ensures that courses and programs are in compliance with Wytheville Community College (WCC), Virginia Community College System (VCCS), State Council for Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and individual Health Program accrediting agency policies and requirements;
4. Assists with the selection of instructional and classified personnel within the Division; supervises and evaluates the performance of Division personnel;
5. Plans, monitors and evaluates the semester-by-semester course load of Division faculty;
6. Plans and monitors the quality, quantity and use of office and classroom space, equipment and instructional materials within the Division;
7. Recommends and assists in the development of new or modified programs of study designed to meet existing or changing needs of the community;
8. Develops, implements and monitors the Division's budget and expenditures;
9. Supervises the preparation of Divisional statistical data, reports and grant proposals;
10. Serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet;
11. Represents the Division at meetings such as the Vice President's staff and other required committees and meetings;
12. Assists and advises the Workforce Development Division relative to Workforce Development initiatives;
13. Participates in Virginia Community College System meetings, including the Council of Coordinators, Directors, and Deans (CODD), and assists with the implementation of VCCS initiatives.
14. Other duties and responsibilities as necessary and assigned.

Part-Time Education Support Specialist II

The Education Support Specialist (ESS) will assist early high school students (grades 9th and 10th) with their transition from middle school to high school by providing information and workshops based on a social development curriculum for college and career planning.
The ESS will work with the TS services team in planning activities beyond the workshops for both our participants and their families.
Working knowledge of social media platforms for virtual workshops and activities, and participant outreach.

The Division of Arts, Sciences, and Health Professions at Wytheville Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member in Nursing that will begin in January 2021.
Position Information
The position calls for teaching a range of entry and intermediate level courses across all Nursing programs at Wytheville Community College. Teaching a minimum of 12 credits per semester, courses may be taught at multiple locations during the day, evening, or through distance learning, as well as at clinical sites throughout the service region. In addition to instructional assignments, he/she will advise students in the Associate Degree Nursing program, serve on college and community committees and organizations, attend meetings, and perform other duties to meet instructional and advising needs.
